Slatted Wood

Curvy Kitchen

About the project

In this South American kitchen, intricate wood slats on the cabinets create a beautiful and unique design. The slats imitate the look of reeding, adding texture and visual interest to the space. The kitchen starts and ends with curves on either end, creating a flowing and harmonious design. Large windows with foliage hide the ceiling-mounted shelving with glass shelves, creating a stunning visual effect.

The Ilve green 54 inch range with brass handles is the focal point of the kitchen. It is surrounded by a mantle hood that comes all the way from the ceiling to the countertop, adding drama and grandeur to the space. The quartz slab backsplash behind the range creates a sleek and modern look, while the concrete slab countertops and backsplash add a touch of industrial chic.

The refrigerator in this kitchen is designed to blend seamlessly into the cabinetry. It consists of two 30-inch wide columns, one for the freezer and one for refrigeration, and is concealed behind tall cabinetry on the left side of the space. On either side of the fridge, small glass cabinets with mullions imitate the slatted design of the larger cabinets, creating a cohesive and visually striking design.

One of the most personal touches in this kitchen is the inclusion of five plates with maps of the areas that the owners call home. This adds a personal and meaningful touch to the space, while also tying in with the design theme of the kitchen. Overall, this South American kitchen is a stunning example of how intricate design details can create a cohesive and striking look.
